2025 Society Of Dyers And Colourists Awards & Day Of Celebration Moves To An Exciting New Venue
The Society of Dyers and Colourists (SDC) is proud to announce the 2025 Awards & Day of Celebration, now set to take place in Chester at the historic Chester Grosvenor Hotel. Mark your calendars for this unmissable event, held on 14 November 2025, beginning at 12:00 pm.
For the first time since 2014, the prestigious event leaves the familiar Merchant Adventurers’ Hall in York, making a bold transition to Chester.
This decision reflects the Society's commitment to creating a more accessible and inclusive experience for members, award recipients, and international guests.
With its excellent road and rail connections, including direct trains to Manchester Airport and London, Chester was chosen for its ease of access and vibrant charm.
The Chester Grosvenor Hotel, established in 1865, is an iconic venue situated adjacent to the renowned Eastgate Clock, said to be the most photographed in the UK after Big Ben.
Just a 15-minute walk from Chester Railway Station and only 3 miles from the motorway network, the hotel offers an ideal setting for the Day of Celebration while being surrounded by a variety of accommodation options and city-centre attractions for attendees to enjoy.
This year’s event will be held in the hotel’s well-equipped Westminster Suite. The elegant suite boasts outstanding facilities, including a spacious Alford Foyer for gatherings and displays, a dedicated bar, and the adjoining Belgrave Suite, which seats up to 160 guests for dinner and includes an integrated screen, projector, and PA system.
With dedicated cloakroom and toilet facilities, the venue ensures a seamless and comfortable experience for all attendees.

Tickets are priced at £70 per person, including VAT, for bookings made before 15 September 2025.
