Roland DG’s DIMENSE Output Earns China's GB Standard for Value-Added Interior Decoration

Hamamatsu, Japan, April 2, 2024 – Roland DG Corporation, a leading manufacturer of digital devices including wide-format inkjet printers, is pleased to announce that the unique, three-dimensional embossed printing of DIMENSE output has acquired the GB standard, a Chinese national standard that aims to meet the demands of human health, life, property safety and national security.
The DIMENSE system consists of an inkjet printer combined with special media that has the property of foaming when heated, a structured ink to control foaming, and CMYK water-based ink that is safe for use indoors.
After printing, the media is heated by the printer’s on-board heater which causes areas not coated with structured ink to foam up to 1.5 mm thick, faithfully realizing the envisioned textured design.
This innovative solution enables on-demand output of wallpaper and other graphics with a three-dimensional presence.
