The Prinfab Comprehensive Sustainability Statement Sets New Standards For The Textile Print-On-Demand Industry

Prinfab’s detailed sustainability statement outlines the environmental impact of every aspect of its operations.

The comprehensive document demonstrates the company's commitment to revolutionising how printed textiles are manufactured and consumed whilst minimising environmental impact.

The sustainability statement reveals Prinfab's industry-leading practices across fabric sourcing, printing processes, and waste management.

All fabrics are supplied by UK importers or manufacturers, with 12% manufactured domestically and 80% sourced from suppliers who are members of SEDEX and the Better Cotton Initiative.

Notably, Prinfab became the first textile print-on-demand company to ensure all fabrics meet EN71-3 safety requirements.

The company's printing operations utilise waterless digital direct-to-textile and dye sublimation processes, consuming just 0.88kWh of electricity per square metre of fabric printed.

All inks are OEKO-TEX Eco Passport certified and contain no chemicals harmful to humans, with pigment inks also carrying ECOCERT certification for environmentally and socially responsible production.

Prinfab's sustainability journey began in 2016, with significant milestones including the introduction of organic fabrics in 2017, recycled polyester options in 2019, and a transition to 100% recycled and recyclable packaging in 2022.

The company also sponsors GreenGrads, supporting graduates addressing environmental challenges within the textile industry.

The statement outlines ambitious targets for continued improvement, including reducing energy usage to 0.6kWh per square metre by 2025 and achieving 100% recyclable waste processing by the same deadline.

Digital printing technology enables Prinfab to offer print-on-demand services with no minimum orders, inherently reducing waste by encouraging customers to order only what they require.

Environmental responsibility extends to shipping operations, with all orders dispatched using Royal Mail, recognised as having the lowest carbon emissions among major UK shipping companies.

The company's commitment to transparency includes regular updates to its sustainability statement.
