This partnership marks a significant step in Premier Textiles' ongoing mission to promote eco-friendly practices and support sustainable cotton farming.

The Better Cotton Initiative is a global effort to make cotton production more sustainable by reducing environmental stress and improving the livelihoods of cotton farmers.

By joining BCI, Premier Textiles aligns itself with a network dedicated to developing Better Cotton as a mainstream commodity, ensuring that the fabric it offers is woven from cotton sourced responsibly.

Premier Textiles collaborates with mills that share its passion for sustainability and ethical practices. The major mills in its supply chain adhere to rigorous standards in several key areas:

·        Chemical Management: Ensuring textiles are safe for human use and have minimal environmental impact. Certifications include Oekotex 100, STeP by Oekotex, GOTS, REACH, BLUESIGN, and ECOLABEL.

·        Water and Wastewater Management: Featuring water treatment units and certifications such as ISO 14001, these partners have Zero Liquid Discharge systems that recycle and reuse over 90% of wastewater.

·        Material Sustainability: Equipped with fiber recycling plants, these mills offer pre- and post-consumer recycled textiles certified under the Recycled Claim Standard (RCS) and Global Recycled Standard (GRS).

·        Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy: Using biomass boilers, solar panels, windmill systems, waste heat recovery boilers, and active afforestation programs, these mills are at the forefront of energy-efficient practices.
