National Weaving Welcomes HRH The Princess Royal to its Pembrokeshire Facility
Pembrokeshire, Wales – August 2026 – National Weaving, a family-owned textile manufacturer with nearly four decades of experience, was honoured to receive a visit from HRH The Princess Royal, President of the UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT), at its Pembrokeshire facility.
The visit celebrated the company's longstanding contribution to British textile manufacturing and its commitment to combining traditional craftsmanship with modern, sustainable production methods.
During the visit, Her Royal Highness met with company owners Jake and Caroline Astley, as well as their niece Jessica, who provided a live demonstration of textile design.
The tour took Her Royal Highness through the company's Weaving Room — the home of National Weaving's original woven name tapes — and the Broadloom Department, where its range of designer labels are produced.
The visit concluded with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque on a newly installed loom, marking the occasion as a celebration of the skill, innovation, and dedication that define National Weaving's workforce.
The business prides itself on a manufacturing philosophy that places equal weight on precision craftsmanship and responsible production — values that continue to guide its operations as the textile industry evolves.
