Midcomp’s HP Latex 335 Print And Cut System Installation Takes South African Digital Print Business To A New Level
Midcomp of Johannesburg has reported the installation of an HP Latex 335 print and cut system at Navii, a digital print business based in Thohoyandou, in Limpopo, South Africa.
The system is designed for printing indoor and outdoor materials.
It delivers print jobs fast, using healthier Latex water-based inks, and produces durable, scratch-resistant prints comparable to hard-solvent inks.
HP Latex Print and Cut systems ensure maximum productivity at a user’s fingertips, which deliver simultaneous printing and cutting with a dual-device solution.
The series is ideal for self-adhesive vinyls, banners, papers, textiles and more.
Users can avoid wait-time as Latex prints come out dry, and can cut right away, with no degas time, and deliver on the same day.
The machine also gives users the ability to be highly productive with efficient job recognition and reliable, error-free cutting with the Optical Positioning System (OPOS) and HP Barcode.
With the machine, users can deliver optimised workflow management from a single point. Unique software with barcode integration is included.
Mohammed Sheth, director at Navii, said the HP Latex 335 print and cut system has helped his business grow. ‘We started off as a photo lab and expanded to digital printing by buying an all-in-one printer. But when we bought our HP Latex 335 printer, it took us to a whole new level. Today we can print labels and get them cut. We can print signboards, billboards and even large photos and canvases. Sheth also said the company’s clients want the products quickly, and the HP Latex 335 delivers on this. If a customer comes through wanting water-based labels for a delivery, his/her order is almost certain to be ready way ahead of the deadline time. ‘The water-based inks of the HP Latex give us an advantage, in that that we can keep on printing while being in the office without suffocating (due to the inks not producing toxic fumes), so that definitely helps when we have back-to-back orders.’
