KYOCERA To Acquire NIXKA, France-Based Producer Of Inkjet Print Engines And Systems
Kyocera’s 100% ownership to create new synergies in inkjet print technologies
Kyocera Corporation announced today that it has concluded an agreement, effective April 1, 2023, to acquire 100% ownership of inkjet print engine and system manufacturer NIXKA S.A.S. which will afterward operate as KYOCERA NIXKA Inkjet Systems S.A.S.
Kyocera’s intention is clear: they are moving into the production print industry, and while they may be new to this market, NIXKA isn’t.
They actually have 30 years of expertise in developing ink and material jetting solutions, with an impressive track record.
This acquisition should help fast track them to their intention.
Background And Objectives
Since 2007, Kyocera has been expanding its digital printing business to serve new applications in commercial and industrial printing.
Kyocera's high-speed inkjet printheads have become key devices within industrial inkjet printers, gaining a strong market position by enabling digital printing at high speed and high resolution.
NIXKA, established in 2020, develops, manufactures and sells high-efficiency, high-quality inkjet print engines and systems with more than 30 years of experiences, and with the differentiating advantage of integrated services that target specific customer needs.
NIXKA's print engines and systems utilize Kyocera's flagship inkjet printhead products, and are optimized in advance for easy use by customers with no inkjet printing expertise.
Given the trend toward custom, small-lot printing, demand for NIXKA's solutions is expected to increase.
In acquiring NIXKA, Kyocera will expand its business into new markets, including print engines, systems and integrated services.
Kyocera aims to maximize synergies by combining expertise from both companies and by promoting the widespread use of inkjet printing technologies by developing new products and applications, contributing to the printing industry as well as the further growth and development of the Kyocera Group
