In a presentation to its investors, Etsy, the Craft Industry’s Ecommerce leviathan sees huge growth potential over the next five years.

The global two-sided marketplace for unique and creative goods, today hosted an Investor Day at its headquarters, featuring members of its leadership team reviewing its strategy and initiatives.

The statistics are truly impressive, with Etsy claiming that its revenue of over $600 m originates from over two million sellers, offering 60 million items to nearly 40 million customers each year.

Chief Executive, Josh Silverman, said that ‘ in a sea of sameness’ Etsy offered something that was unique, because it was  fun, it was special, and it was an inspiring human experience.

Buying from Etsy joined the buyer and the seller in a meaningful interaction with a personal touch, in a platform that enjoyed universal trust.

As the Craft offer becomes recognised as an important pillar of many Industries, particularly Digitally Printed Textiles, so the importance of an online curated offer such as Etsy, linking designer/makers with enthusiastic buyers cannot be over estimated.

As Josh Silverman said ‘Etsy Is Powered By People, And People Are Empowered By Etsy.
