Gerhard Klein─Braun Und Klein’s Geschäftsführer Explains Why They Chose To Order The Durst P5 350 HS & Automat At FESPA in Berlin
Gerhard Klein is the Geschäftsführer of the Saarbrucken Digital Printers Braun und Klein, and he tells us about their reasoning, why, in spite of economic headwinds, they ordered a new Durst P5 at the FESPA Global Expo in Berlin.
“We are experiencing exciting times.
Without being able to prevent it, Ukraine was invaded.
With February 24, 2022, a new era has indeed dawned.
In addition to the problems that have already been caused to companies and everyone personally by Corona, a veritable economic crisis is now coming because of the uncertainty of the energy supply.
The rising prices of energy are, of course, additionally driven by the European Central Bank's policy of cheap money.
All in all, this could lead to an economic crisis and probably also to a recession.”
Nevertheless, We Decided To Invest.
“At FESPA, the largest trade fair for digital printing, large format printing and, of course, soft signage, we sealed the contract with DURST.
The DURST P5 350 HS will be delivered at the beginning of August.
The machine is equipped with state-of-the-art print heads and cures the UV inks with LED lamps.
We chose LED because these lamps demonstrably consume less energy and thus support our way to a more sustainable future.
The machine is equipped ex works with the four printing basic inks CYMK (Cyan / Magenta / Yellow / Black) and additionally Lightcyan and Lightmagenta like our other plate printers.
With the additional light colors, there is an enlarged color space.
Special special colours and grey tones of our customers in the retail trade can thus be implemented much more precisely.
Of course, the machine is also more beautiful, faster and more flexible than our installed machines from Durst and INCA.
But that's not all; with the ordered roll option comes a highly productive roll-to-roll printer that can also print over 3m wide rolls. “
At The Same Time, Durst Is Providing A Software Solution For Our Workflow.
“Actually, there are two software packages.
We are replacing our aging ERP system with a cloud-based solution from Durst and integrating a workflow solution from Durst into this software.
With this solution, the data becomes device-independent.
This means that every employee can access data and information within the system from any location and from any device, whether PC, Mac, tablet or mobile phone, depending on their authorization.
The aim of the installation is to automate a large part of the standard jobs and only to monitor them.
This creates scope for development and innovation for our customers.
If everything goes according to plan, we will be through with the basic installation in mid/end of August and will continue to develop our system from then on.
Exciting times as I said, but also times for entrepreneurial courage and the conviction that companies must constantly develop”
