Stable Prints At A High Pace For NRA In Sweden With The Epson Surecolor S9100
When the printer NRA in Umeå needed to upgrade its machine park, the choice fell on two new Epson SureColor S9100, a further development of the model they have already worked with for years.
The NRA describes the result as safer operation, less downtime and smoother color over long runs.
The deal went through Color Systems, a specialist company that works with services and products around large format production.
The company has been a long-standing and important partner of both Epson and NRA.
“The first Epson printer we bought was a real boost compared to the ones we had before,” says Mattias Eriksson, print operator at NRA, and his colleague fills in:
“It was a given to continue with Epson. Now we have invested in the next generation of printers and the difference is immediately noticed,” says Rickard Holmgren at NRA.
NRA was founded in 1956 and is a leader in visual communication for signage, profile decor in Umeå.
At NRA, the workflow is fast and varied, from small decals to full-foiling of vehicles and machines. In such a day-to-day life, the printer must deliver. Every time.
“We can’t stop the downtime, then the whole job can fall. With these printers, we know that everything just works," said Rickard Holmgren.
Printing large surfaces requires not only precision, but also repeatability.
With the new printers, they can rely on the color matching to last, whether a project spans several days or different printers.
The stable operation also makes them dare to let the printers work without personal monitoring.
“We often start a bigger job in the evening and let it go through the night. In the morning it is clear and it saves us lots of time and money, says Mattias.
Color Space, Durability And Efficiency In Focus
The Epson S9100 offers several benefits for the NRA:
Extended color gamut with green ink – important for color critical profiles.
Ink bags instead of cassettes – which reduces waste and simplifies operation.
Stable performance and the ability to change print heads yourself if necessary – which means reduced breaks in work and savings.
It’s the whole thing we like. The color reproduction is fantastic, the machine is stable and we do not have to stand still. That we can change printheads ourselves is really a security, says Rickard.
The printers have been delivered by Color Systems, which also provided installation, advice and technical support.
The collaboration between Epson, Color Systems and NRA has been ongoing for over ten years and is characterized by trust and technical expertise.
“We’ve always felt safe with Color Systems. They know their products and know what works for us," Rickard said.
Epson, in turn, acts as a producer and technical support in the background, with close contact with the dealer.
“This is a good example of how we collaborate in three ranks: Epson as a manufacturer, Color Systems as a specialist and the customer as an expert in their own production,” says Richard Garp, Business Account Manager at Epson Sweden.
A Reliable Solution
The collaboration between NRA, Color Systems and Epson shows how the right technology, in the right context, makes a real difference in everyday life.
Epson’s large-format printers provide NRA with a high-performance, wide-ranging colour rendering and long-term reliability of long-term, without compromising flexibility or environmental aspects.
For the NRA, this means that they can focus on their production and let the technology work quietly in the background.
“It’s not just the speed and precision, the green ink opens up completely new color areas. This is directly evident in customers’ work, for example when they make vinyl for green scooters. When you as a user can change printheads, you reduce both costs and downtime. It is a very strong overall solution, concludes Richard Garp, Business Account Manager at Epson Sweden
