Based in the Greater Manchester area, Eden Fabrics is a new start-up formed by experienced large format printers Mike Lambert & Mark Thomas.
Although they only recently opened their doors, Eden Fabrics have already made an impact and partnered with well-known social media influences to help promote their emerging business.
At its core Eden is a textile printing company, capable of producing high-quality prints up to 160cm wide onto a wide variety of fabrics.
However, they currently specialise in home furnishings - printing bright and bold designs onto plush materials such as velvet and fleece.
With a combined experience of 30 years in the printing industry, Mike & Mark knew how important it was to choose the right equipment at the start of their journey.
Having previously operated an array of different machines, including both the HP Stitch S500 and it’s larger sibling - the HP Stitch S1000 - they knew the direction they wanted to go in.
“If you want to have the best products, you have to have the best machinery,” comments Mark. “There was no question in our mind when we set up, it was HP - definitely.” he continues.
Therefore, Mike decided to contact the exclusive UK & Ireland distributor for HP Stitch - R A Smart.
He was able to quickly secure a S500 for Eden Fabrics, along with a refurbished calendar heat press manufactured by renowned Italian manufacturer Transmatic.
The machines were prepared and ready for delivery and installation as soon as Mike got the keys to their new unit.
He explains, “Starting up on your own is such a big step. Knowing that I had the support of R A Smart and the engineers is invaluable...” Mike continues, “In the rare event there is ever an issue, the way I can just pick up the phone or send them a text and they’re on the phone immediately and it’s fixed!”
Another important consideration for Mike & Mark was the environmental impact of their business.
Eden Fabrics focuses on sustainable print solutions, something synonymous with HP technology.
Not only does the HP Stitch S500 utilise water-based inks, that have an Eco Passport From Oeko-Tex®, But Eden Also Source Recycled Materials For An Even Greener Approach.
As they look to the future, Eden Fabrics hope to firmly cement themselves within the textile printing arena.
As they continue to grow they would like to expand their offering and machinery alike.
Additional sewing equipment will allow them to expand their product range and more HP printers would allow for extra capacity and increased versatility - something both Mike and Mark are keen to explore.
