Canon’s New imagePROGRAF TC-20 Is A Compact Large Format Desktop Printer─Perfect For Hybrid Working From Home

London, United Kingdom, 4 JANUARY 2023 - Today Canon Europe has launched the new imagePROGRAF TC-20 large format desktop printer.

This printer is targeted towards the ultra-low volume market, which includes Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) offices, educational settings and the hospitality industry - delivering high quality, detailed drawings from A4 to A1+ paper sizes.

Its easy-to-use design, new 70ml four colour (BK/C/M/Y) pigment ink bottles, that simplify maintenance of the printer, and its super slim compact body with standard built-in Auto Sheet Feeder (ASF), make it ideal for small or temporary office spaces as well as for hybrid workers who may be working from home.

The desktop model imagePROGRAF TC-20 is a compact large format printer that can easily be placed on the desk or shelf in the office or at home.

It prints 100 sheets of A4 or 50 sheets of A3 plain paper in one go – or on roll paper up to A1+ size for building plans, designs, surveying drawings and sales materials.

The free Direct Print Plus software solution is easy to use, ensures superior print quality on par with the more exclusive models in the imagePROGRAF range and the solution is also compatible with other imagePROGRAF models.

Large Format Printing In Small Spaces

The TC-20’s space-saving design is ideal for home workers with large format printing needs. Its super slim compact body can be placed on a desk or shelf, and its design allows for all print-related operations, such as loading paper and ink refilling, to be easily accessed at the front.

For users unfamiliar with large format printers, the roll of paper is designed to be easy to install. Unlike many other large format printers, the roll holder is shaftless which makes it easy to install the roll paper, especially in small spaces.

Users can very simply insert and lock the roll holders on two sides.

Using the free “PosterArtist1” web application, users can create posters and flyers with ease.

This is ideal for hospitality settings such as restaurants and retail stores where they might produce posters and menus and are often very short on space.

“PosterArtist” offers a large variety of templates that enable users to create materials to suit their needs, with changeable text and images, making it easy for people unfamiliar with design to create original designs.

Superior Results For Paper Sizes From A1+ To A4 – Every Time

As with the more exclusive models in the imagePROGRAF series, the free Direct Print Plus software is included, so that the layout of multiple files in different file formats can be checked, such as PDF, JPEG and TIFF.

With on-screen preview, the results can be printed directly, without having to launch each separate application.

By simply selecting the paper source via Direct Print Plus or an alternative printer driver, one can switch between roll paper and cut sheet and easily print on a wide variety of formats including A4, A3 and A1+.

The automatic sheet feeder is built in as standard and prints A3 or A4 paper in one go.

The four inks are pigment-based color inks that provide superior quality and vibrant colors.

The result is first-class drawings at home or in other remote locations - as easily as in the office.

By using only pigment-based ink, both lines and small letters on drawings are reproduced very clearly and in high quality.

drawings used outdoors are also more robust thanks to the pigment-based ink.

Monitor Consumables Via Smartphone

The imagePROGRAF TC-20 has a large ink tank that provides continuous printing and uses 70ml ink bottles for all four colors (BK/C/M/Y) so you don't have to refill ink as often.

With Canon's app Canon Print Inkjet/SELPHY [2] , remaining roll paper and ink can be checked via a smartphone.

It is thus possible to quickly see if paper or ink refills are needed and to update the firmware.

The ink bottles have been designed to prevent mistakes when refilling. The bottles have a different shape for each color and the current color is displayed on the bottle opening. Installation is also easy.

When the bottles are inserted into the ink tank, the ink injection starts and when a certain level is reached, it stops automatically. A special mechanism also helps prevent ink spillage when refilling.

By using the PIXMA Cloud Link function in this app, one can also print documents archived or stored in the cloud.

For example, a drawing created at the design office and stored in the cloud can be printed via a smartphone on a temporary construction site and shared with personnel in the field.

Designed With Durability In Mind

The imagePROGRAF TC-20 contributes to sustainability goals by offering lower power consumption – 28 W or less during operation.

The packaging materials have also been reduced and it is easy to recycle the ink bottles.

Thanks to the environmental benefits, including the fact that the printer uses recycled plastic in its design, the imagePROGRAF TC-20 has also been rated as a Gold product, the highest rating level for imaging equipment products, according to the US EPEAT environmental rating system.
