Bobst has owned 50.1% of Mouvent since its inception in June 2017, and has now acquired the remaining balance of shares, giving it total ownership..
Mouvent is developing "technological innovations that could disrupt packaging & textile production," the group said. "The work done in the space of three years has been very important and positive," says Bobst.
More than 20 Bobst and Mouvent presses with Mouvent Cluster technology were sold in Europe and the United States this year.
This Mouvent Cluster technology - integrated with Mouvent's LB701-UV and LB702-UV presses and Bobst's Master DM5 - is based on print heads equipped with their own electronic components, ink power and mechanics, enabling modular organization.
New digital inkjet printing solutions and water-based inks will soon be launched.
They should meet the environmental requirements of the packaging world, according to Bobst.
This acquisition in digital printing follows another investment in digital.
Bobst and SEI Laser, an Italian company specializing in digital finishing, will create an entity dedicated to laser cutting for the label and packaging sectors.
SEI LASER is a leading company in the manufacture of laser systems for die cutting and digital creasing, backed by a proven know-how and BOBST GROUP, one of the world’s leading suppliers of converting equipment and services agree on an industrial partnership.
On the basis of common interests, synergies and objective complementarity, SEI LASER and BOBST GROUP will join forces, for a collaboration having as its primary object the development of complete solutions for the packaging, labeling, folding carton and corrugated board industries.
The partnership will have, as its main aim, the digitalization of manufacturing processes, the introduction of innovative systems exploiting laser technology as well as software platforms and tailor made services onto a market that will grow in the coming years.
“The enthusiasm for the potential of this project is tangible. Our laser knowledge combines with the strength and experience of Bobst group. They perfectly complement each other. This partnership will open up new markets and will enable not only to strengthen what has already been achieved but also to “write the history of digital converting”. It is about creating value innovation as well as new market spaces” 𝘌𝘵𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘰, 𝘚𝘌𝘐 𝘓𝘢𝘴𝘦𝘳 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘋𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳
