Textile Design Award ─ AVA CAD/CAM Congratulate MMU 2024 Graduate

At AVA CAD/CAM we are extremely proud to work with universities to help bridge the gap between graduation and finding a role within the Design and Manufacturing industries.

One way AVA like to facilitate this is to give an annual award to a third-year student during their final graduation show.

The prize consists of a free place on our AVA CST training course with a three-month free loan of the software.

This year, we were thrilled to be able to see all the amazing work from MMU’s class of 2024. As in previous years the work always surpasses expectations and makes it harder year on year to choose a winner.

After Much Deliberation Between AVA’s Education Team, They Chose Caitlin Geraghty As This Year’s Winner.

They loved how she took hand drawn elements and motifs using her CAD skills to create these large digitally printed patterned wallpaper lengths.

Caitlin’s final collection was informed by her research into the healing benefits of biophilic design principles, the combination of the natural world and man-made environments.

Her floral imagery was inspired by the vast array of flora and fauna species from across Lancashire.

Since graduation Catlin has been working on several projects regarding wellness and botanical influences and hopes to work in illustration in the home and wall coverings sector.

We are looking forward to working with Caitlin in the coming months and to see other beautiful designs she creates during the course.
