Art Meets Humanity At The Fashion Makes Sense Award 2018


On the 9th of October the winners of the second Fashion Makes Sense Award will be announced during the IAF Festive Fashion Dinner at Chateau St. Gerlach.

With this award FASHIONCLASH wants to motivate the designers who create with a passion for humanity and the environment.

This year, 10 designers were selected to show their work to the public and a jury panel in the hope of being named the winner of the Fashion Makes Sense Award 2018.

Discover the ten designers who in their own words tell you about their collection, how they get inspired and how they work sustainably. From 1 to 7 October you can admire the ten outfits from close by at the Bijenkorf in Maastricht.

The finalists will be judged by a panel consisting of Iris Ruisch (M-ODE.net), Milou van Rossum (fashion editor at NRC), Borre Akkersdijk (BYBORRE) and Olgun Aydin (Manager Supply Chain Sustainability, Puma).

FASHIONCLASH is an innovative, international and interdisciplinary fashion platform and development institute that focusses on new generation of designers and artists, located in Maastricht, the heart of Europe.

The main activity of the foundation since 2009 is the organization of Fashionclash Maastricht with fashion shows , exhibitions, workshops, Meet the Designer events and the Fashionclash Designer Market. Tickets are sold for fashion shows; all other events are free of charge. .

Fashionclash works closely together with, among others, the Maastricht Academy of Fine Arts , the Hasselt Fashion Museum and the Designmetropole Aachen organization..
