Canon Secures Top 1% Global Sustainability Ranking with Second Consecutive EcoVadis Platinum Status
LONDON, January 26, 2026 – Canon has been awarded the prestigious EcoVadis Platinum status for the second year in a row, cementing its position within the top 1% of companies evaluated globally for sustainability performance.
This recognition underscores the organisation's unwavering commitment to ethical operations and environmental stewardship.
EcoVadis, a global leader in business sustainability ratings, assesses over 150,000 companies across 185 countries and 250 industries.
This score reflects the company's comprehensive approach to sustainability, with particularly high marks awarded in the Environment and Labour & Human Rights categories.
This achievement highlights Canon's accelerated efforts to address pressing environmental and social challenges.
Additionally, Canon has established science-based GHG emissions reduction targets aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) standards.
These intermediate goals include a 42% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions and a 25% reduction in Scope 3 emissions (specifically categories 1 and 11) by 2030, compared to 2022 baselines.
Beyond environmental initiatives, the high rating also validates the effectiveness of the Canon Group Human Rights Policy.
This policy serves as a foundational declaration of the company’s stance on human rights, enforcing rigorous due diligence processes throughout the entire Group to ensure ethical labor practices are upheld globally.
Peter Bragg, EMEA Sustainability & Government Affairs Director at Canon EMEA, said, "We are so proud of achieving the EcoVadis Platinum rating for the second consecutive year. This ongoing recognition, alongside our improved overall score, serves as powerful validation of our commitment to sustainable business practices and our continuous drive to positively influence our environmental and social footprint. Retaining our Platinum status and remaining among the top 1% of rated organisations motivates us to continue raising the bar for sustainability in our industry."
