Stella Macartney re-affirmed her commitment to an environmental conscience in the Fashion Industry by supporting this bold and imaginative initiative.

The COP24 Charter details 16 commitments that set a path for collective action to reduce the industry’s environmentally damaging effects, such as waste, pollution, deforestation, toxins in manufacturing, and carbon-fuelled supply chains.

COP24 is the informal name for the 24th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

As an organisation it seeks to promote awareness of the changing climate at the highest International levels available.

Their efforts are now seen to be more urgent, when set against the backdrop of the recent US report that  delivers a dire warning about climate change and its devastating impacts, saying the US economy could lose hundreds of billions of dollars -- or, in the worst-case scenario, more than 10% of its GDP -- by the end of the century.

Everything is at stake,” McCartney said. “It’s really about bringing everyone together as an industry, and instead of having a few people talk about it, it’s having everyone talk about it and the leaders … actually taking responsibility, putting our money where our mouth is and making an amazing change together.”
