Techkon USA And Sun Chemical North America Launch Innovative SunQ Software For Manufacturing Batch Testing

DANVERS, MA, UNITED STATES, February, 2026  – Techkon USA and Sun Chemical North America have today announced the launch of SunQ, a pioneering quality software solution designed to revolutionise manufacturing batch testing.

This co-developed platform integrates seamlessly with SAP, providing a user-friendly interface that combines colour and physical testing into a single, cohesive system.

The launch marks a significant step forward in standardising testing protocols across the industry, ensuring optimal consistency in batch-to-batch quality while reinforcing a commitment to operational excellence.

SunQ addresses the critical need for unified data and streamlined workflows in ink production.

The software is designed to standardise testing protocols across a wide range of parameters, including batch quality testing, data trend analysis, and comprehensive quality metrics.

By facilitating automated quality traceability and establishing clear escalation protocols and approvals, the system ensures that manufacturing processes are both rigorous and transparent.

This improved efficiency is vital for reducing waste and testing cycle times, aligning with broader industry goals of sustainable and responsible production.

George Adam, President of Techkon USA, described the comprehensive nature of the platform. "It's like an ERP system for ink production," said Adam, highlighting the software's ability to manage complex production data with the same rigour as enterprise resource planning systems.

A key component of the SunQ system is its integration with Techkon’s SpectroDens, a patented device that functions as both a spectrophotometer and densitometer.

Operators can utilize the device via a wired or wireless connection to perform various colour, density, and physical measurements without the inefficiency of switching between different software packages.

This seamless integration empowers operators to maintain high standards of quality control with greater speed and accuracy.

The software has already been implemented in 30 Sun Chemical plants across North America, demonstrating its immediate value in a live manufacturing environment.

Ken Williams, Senior Operations Manager at Sun Chemical Corp, noted the positive impact on their facilities. "Our QC labs are excited with the ease of use, product testing process and data analytics for optimising consistency of batch-to-batch quality. With one seamless interface thanks to Techkon’s custom developed SunQ software, we’ve greatly improved our product Quality testing process at the manufacturing plants."
