Roland DG Launches IU-1000F, A Flatbed UV-LED Large Format Printer With Revolutionary Performance

Roland DG Corporation, the world's leading manufacturer of large format and print / cut inkjet printers, recently announced the expansion of its UV peripheral portfolio with a new large format UV-LED flatbed printer: IU-1000F.

Capable of printing on a wide range of surfaces and objects at speeds up to 116  per hour , IU-1000F is designed to meet the diverse needs of print service providers and commercial printers, with unsurpassed performance.

As the life cycles and requirements of communication tools such as outdoor and indoor advertising, event decoration and store displays become increasingly shorter and more diversified, the signage and display industry is increasingly becoming a sector that needs of a rapid response.

In such difficult circumstances, high-performance large-format flatbed UV printers that enable a more efficient production process and are able to print on different materials for a wide range of applications are attracting more attention than ever.

According to Kohei Tanabe, president of the DP Business Division, the IU-1000F boasts revolutionary speed and quality, while eliminating the need for installation and drying.

In addition to high-adhesion and high-density UV CMYK inks, this highly versatile large format device supports White, Gloss and Primer inks to create a wide range of surprising applications, from signs, displays, backlit and impressive display graphics. and highly profitable, up to customized applications for interior furnishing, such as canvas paintings and furniture printing.

Equipped with 12 high-performance print heads in a 3-row staggered arrangement, IU-1000F is capable of printing up to 635 x 1800 dpi with variable droplet technology that can simultaneously deliver 3 droplet sizes at high speed. In an hour it is possible to print 15 slabs of 1220 x 2440 mm (48.5 m² / hour) in "Standard" printing mode and 10 slabs in "Quality" mode (32 m² / hour).

The IU-1000F uses flatbed UV-LED printing technology to print directly on a wide variety of materials and objects, including rigid panels up to 2510 mm x 1310 mm, height 110 mm and a weight of 45 kg / m2.

The high-performance UV inks, developed exclusively, dry immediately, allowing the IU-1000F to print on surfaces such as acrylic, PETG, PVC panels, foam panels, PC, wood, corrugated polypropylene panels, aluminum composite plates and , thanks to the primer, even on metal and glass on which it is generally difficult to adhere the ink 2 .

IU-1000F has a number of new features to optimize performance and make it more efficient, including an ionizer that removes static electricity, a versatile printing plan that can handle materials of various sizes, from a large plate to smaller panels, and alignment pins to easily align the materials to be printed.

IU-1000F Sales will start in Europe, North America and Japan starting in the first quarter of 2020.
