Did you know?...The Martindale instrument was originally developed with Dr Martindale in the 1940's at the WIRA institute, starting with the 103 model which had 4 stations, and at the time performed tests for textiles used in military clothing and accessories in WWII.
Today we are now on the 1600's model of Martindale, with a long and celebrated 80 years of manufacture and distribution at James Heal, a history that we are immensely proud of.
Our Martindale Pilling and Abrasion testers are available in three distinct models; a 9 station, a 5 station and a 2 station instrument, all featuring our TestWise Touch screens.
Capable of performing tests to well over 50 different standards, our instruments cover testing on textiles such as everyday garments and socks, to leather items, coated textiles and laminated hard surface textiles.
