FASTSEWN To Unveil Fully Automated Sewing And Cutting System At FESPA 2026 In Barcelona
Aarhus – Denmark – May 2026 – FASTSEWN has announced it will showcase its revolutionary fully automated sewing and cutting system at FESPA 2026 in Barcelona.
Located in Hall 3, Booth A144, the exhibition will demonstrate how manufacturers can seamlessly transition from raw rolls of textile to finished products in a single operation.
The textile industry currently faces a critical bottleneck in the sewing process.
Relying on pre-cut materials and the manual manipulation of textiles under a sewing head slows production and introduces significant quality variability.
Furthermore, with only one percent of the world's seamsters remaining in the West, and their numbers rapidly declining, manufacturers are struggling to maintain growth.
FASTSEWN directly addresses this urgent industry challenge by automating the entire workflow.
This forward-thinking approach delivers higher and more consistent quality, accelerates production and shipping times, and drastically reduces overstock and material waste.
During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to view an expo machine on-site and interact with the experts who designed and built the technology.
The remote demonstrations of the new 3.3-metre by 3.3-metre system will provide a front-row view of its extensive capabilities for industrial textiles, soft signage, and protective gear.
Built for demanding, real-world production, the FASTSEWN 33x33 SEG features significant technological advancements. The system includes larger machine sizes, a new keder dispenser accommodating various dimensions, and a highly precise dual vision registration system.
It is driven by fast, dynamic linear motors and features a servo-controlled sewing head equipped with digital thread tensioning and a digital presser foot.
Additional innovations include a powerful 150W CO2 laser with flying optics, an integrated vacuum hold-down system, and a modular tooling system for diverse applications.
The workflow is further streamlined by an automated SEG plugin developed in partnership with Caldera PrimeCenter, an adaptive CE-certified safety system, and the Caron Vegas Duo 320 cm roll-off system.
Industry professionals are invited to experience the future of textile manufacturing and discuss their specific production needs.
Visitors can secure a free exhibition ticket by using the promotional code MIKK before the 20th of April.
About FASTSEWN
Led by Steen Mikkelsen, inventor of i-cut™, the FASTSEWN team brings three decades of innovation in flatbed cutting and textile workflows.
FASTSEWN's patented MCT™ platform integrates advanced automation for sewing and laser cutting, delivering turnkey solutions that streamline operations, enhance precision, and minimise labour requirements across wide-format graphics, industrial and apparel manufacturing sectors.
FASTSEWN relies on a patented new innovative system called MCT or Moving Cavity Technology.
The system utilizes a conveyorized flatbed combined with a specialized vacuum hold-down system.
There is a series of pulleys and rollers that create a movable cavity in the flatbed surface.
This movable cavity allows access to the underside of the textiles, i.e. the undercarriage of the sewing machine to work without moving the textiles.
This is achieved without strapping the fabric into frames.
This practically eliminates any manual handling, which is in many cases 80% of the total production time.
