The Fashion and Textile Museum Announces Watercolour Fashion Portrait Workshop with Artist Martine Spencer

London, UK – July 2026 – The Fashion and Textile Museum has announced an upcoming workshop, 'Watercolour Fashion Portraits', led by professional watercolour artist and museum tutor Martine Spencer.

The session is scheduled for Friday 24 July, from 11:30 to 15:30, and is open to participants of all skill levels.

Martine Spencer is a multidisciplinary creative whose practice spans watercolour painting, textile design, and digital illustration, with a specialism in fashion and beauty.

Working from her studio, Spencer produces designs for cards, textiles, art prints, murals, and more.

Her work draws inspiration from street style and fashion magazines, resulting in paintings that are loose, dynamic, and full of movement.

The 'Watercolour Fashion Portraits' workshop will give participants the opportunity to learn Spencer's distinctive techniques first-hand, exploring how to create bold, expressive fashion portraits using watercolour.

The session forms part of the Fashion and Textile Museum's broader workshops programme, which offers a wide variety of artistic, craft, and dressmaking sessions delivered by artists and industry professionals throughout the year.

Alongside her studio practice, Spencer teaches and exhibits across the United Kingdom, where she is recognised for her ability to encourage others to develop their own artistic voice through colour and mark-making.

Her involvement in the museum's programme reflects its ongoing commitment to connecting the public with leading creative practitioners.

Places for the 'Watercolour Fashion Portraits' workshop on Friday 24 July are available to book now.
