John Mark Ltd are the world leaders in digitally printed wallcoverings at an industrial scale.

They recently installed their seventh HP Latex printer working with  HP Graphic Arts & Papergraphics for a quick and efficient installation.

This new machine instantly adds an additional 20% printing capacity from today.
This new investment also allows them to continue to offer pattern designers the quickest lead times and no minimum order quantities, on the finest luxury wallpapers in the industry.

Specialising purely in the digital print process, they have pushed the boundaries of the technology to develop beautiful, innovative grounds and a print mark that is second to none.

The company was born from years of experience in the industry by its founder John Mark Watson and supported by the extensive experience and skills of its management team which between them span more than 60 years.

Based in Leyland, Lancashire, John Mark Ltd offers the benefits from this time served knowledge to provide you with high-quality, trouble-free product to take to market.

John Mark recognised the benefits digital print could bring to the wallpaper industry and has worked closely with HP to develop their largest printing machines to produce the finest luxury grade wallpapers on the market.

Due to HP’s revolutionary water-based latex ink technology, John Mark can print on a diverse range of papers, vinyls, foils, natural wallpapers, and paper-backed fabrics, whilst still maintaining a stunning, fade-resistant, wipeable and high-quality finish.

Due to the HP purely digital printing process, there are no limits on a design's vertical repeat, and the ability to produce with no minimum order quantity.

This is helping to satisfy the demand for limited edition designs whilst helping new designers test their patterns in the marketplace without the large financial commitments of traditional legacy wallpaper print processes.

Latex Ink Technology

John Mark only use HP water based, environmentally kind inks.

HP Latex ink is durable, colour fast and capable of being printed on a broad range of Non-Woven Wallpapers, Foil Wallpapers, Natural Wallpapers, and Fabric Wallpapers.

The multiple colour ink system has a much broader colour gamut than CMYK process.

This is particularly useful when colour matching to fabrics and other surface prints.

HP latex inks are free from Cadmium, Chromium, Mercury, Lead (tested to >0.2ppm) or Formaldehyde.

HP water based environmentally kind inks offer durability to withstand “wear and tear” from the different sources of potential damage to which luxury wallpapers may be exposed.

These components can be grouped as follows:

Light-Fade Resistance

Light-fade resistance, sometimes referred to as lightfastness, is a measure of how well a print resists fading with exposure to light and other environmental factors such as ozone.

The colour of an ink comes from its dyes or pigments, and over time these particles will be broken down by UV rays in sunlight, resulting in colours that fade.

Prints produced with inks that contain pigments, such as HP Latex Inks, tend to last a lot longer than prints produced with inks that contain dyes only.

Scratch And Abrasion Resistance

Scratch resistance and abrasion resistance refer to the ability of a print to resist damage from different objects with which it comes into contact.

This is a relevant consideration during the finishing, shipping, and installation of our luxury wallpapers.

Scratch damage refers specifically to damage from sharp or pointed objects—fingernails, for example.

This is a very important consideration for high-value luxury wallpapers that will be viewed at short distance since a single scratch can occur in an instant and permanently damage a print.

Abrasion (also called dry rub) refers to damage caused by repeated rubbing in the same location.

This is an important consideration for our luxury wallpapers that could be exposed to repeated rubbing or scuffing in the same location.

Thanks to the the team at HP John Mark inks have an anti-scratch agent in which provides a high level of scratch resistance on smooth, uncoated and coated wallcoverings.

Certifications

HP Latex Inks have qualified for certifications that demonstrate they meet some of the world's most rigorous and comprehensive standards for low chemical emissions into indoor air.

Meet stringent health and environmental criteria—HP Latex Inks are UL ECOLOGO® certified5, conform to ZDHC Manufacturing Restricted Substances List6, and comply with toy safety requirements.
