Global Fashion Agenda Summit 2026 Urges the Industry to Transform Risk into Renewal
Copenhagen, Denmark - 8 May 2026 – The Global Fashion Summit: Copenhagen Edition 2026, hosted by the Global Fashion Agenda (GFA) from 5 to 7 May, brought together over one thousand stakeholders to accelerate collective action on sustainability.
Held at the Copenhagen Concert Hall with a celebratory closing dinner attended by Her Majesty The Queen of Denmark, the summit united brands, policymakers, and innovators under the theme 'Building Resilient Futures' to translate sustainability ambitions into measurable progress across the value chain.
Addressing the pressing environmental challenges facing the industry, the event emphasised that resilience and ethical practices are now a fundamental responsibility rather than an option.
Federica Marchionni, CEO of Global Fashion Agenda, challenged attendees to rethink global value chains, invest in circular infrastructure, and ensure technology elevates human potential. “Resilience means adapting to shocks while moving toward sustainability,” Marchionni stated. “Every great leap in the history of fashion has emerged not from comfort, but from pressure. Not from stability, but from necessity. And today, we sit at the confluence of several revolutions happening simultaneously — each one carrying extraordinary potential for those willing to meet it with imagination and courage.”
GFA partnered with Boston Consulting Group to release the Fashion CFO Agenda 2026, guiding finance leaders in embedding sustainability into long-term business resilience.
Creative circularity took centre stage as designer Kévin Germanier unveiled a Spring-Summer 2026 collection crafted entirely from unsold LVMH materials.
Additionally, the event championed emerging talent by naming Synflux the winner of the Trailblazer Programme and celebrating MARTAN as the Visa Young Creators grand prize winner.
Furthering cross-sector collaboration, GFA announced the 2030 Circularity Blueprint with ReHubs to advance textile-to-textile recycling in Europe, alongside new strategic alliances with Chalhoub Group and the Sustainable Markets Initiative.
Transparency and material innovation were also prominent, with Pandora revealing the carbon footprint of its lab-grown diamonds and Hyosung TNC showcasing its new bio-based elastane.
