UK Fashion SMEs Invited to Apply for EU-Backed Fashion Adaptor Programme 2025

London, UK - 20 August 2025 – The European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) Culture & Creativity has announced that UK fashion small and medium enterprises are eligible to apply for the Fashion Adaptor Programme 2025, a comprehensive 10-week training initiative designed to accelerate the transition from conventional production to circular, resource-conscious business models.

The programme addresses the urgent need for sustainable transformation within the fashion industry, offering participating SMEs expert mentoring, peer collaboration opportunities, and access to cutting-edge digital circularity tools.

While the 2025 programme does not provide direct financial support, travel costs for the final showcase event will be covered for all participants.

Applications are being accepted from established SMEs in EU Member States and Horizon Europe associated countries, including the UK, that already have products available through stockists or direct-to-consumer channels and maintain sound financial planning for 2026-2027.

Up to 30 SMEs will be selected for the cohort, with a maximum of two representatives per company permitted to participate.

The structured curriculum focuses on four strategic pillars: capital management, quality enhancement, global market positioning, and material innovation. Participants will engage in seven dedicated mentoring and coaching sessions while collaborating with fellow SMEs to develop practical transformation strategies.

A key component of the programme involves utilising a digital circularity tool that enables participants to input real operational data, benchmark their current performance against industry standards, and test various transformation scenarios.

This evidence-based approach ensures that participating SMEs develop measurable targets for incorporating recycled and regenerative materials into their production processes.

The programme culminates in a demonstration day where participating SMEs will present their circular transformation strategies and showcase measurable outcomes to industry stakeholders and potential partners.

Upon completion, participating companies will have developed comprehensive circular transformation strategies, structured approaches to minimising waste and overproduction, and transparent impact communication tools that demonstrate social responsibility across the fashion value chain.

The application deadline is 2 September 2025 at 6pm Brussels time (CET), emphasising the programme's commitment to supporting the industry's rapid evolution toward sustainable practices.
