MAGDALENA KAPRON

I'm a product designer and artist involved in textile, illustration, mixed-media sculpture and installation. Currently focused on digitally and hand printed patterns by using traditional dyeing methods and natural ingredients.

My main source of inspiration is nature, specially her transformational and multidimensional character beyond the purely material level placed in a new context, form and rhythm.

Each work explores the textures, patterns, forms and structures of my surroundings. Using a small scale, single to multi-coloured repetitive patterns and playing with proportion and light helps me create sculptural elements and graphic motifs to create completely different stories for each artwork. I always try to blur the lines between traditional craft and art by studying and experimenting with different materials, colours and techniques.

My ethos is sustainable and ethically made design.
