VET-e-MAGES, an online supplier of decorative fabrics based in Thoissey, France, offers printing services for professionals from the fashion, furniture, accessories and events industries, including B2B and B2C clients.
Their clients include luxury and ethical brands, publishers, as well as commercial partnerships with French fabric and knitwear manufacturers. They develop turnkey projects, providing ready-made clothing for emerging brands.
VET-e-MAGES used traditional rotary printing systems as well as subsequent digital sublimation and direct printing technologies for two decades, but currently the company uses the Allegro system of the Kornit company for digital printing directly on fabric.
"I don't want to multiply processes, especially from an ecological point of view, Kornit is at the forefront," says Alexandre Fruchart, CEO of VET-e-MAGES. "Kornit is the best partner and visionary in his field that suits my values and goals."
When COVID-19 restrictions came, the company received support requests from Thoissey authorities who sought help in the production of face masks for nursing staff.
Because VET-e-MAGES had both fabrics and sewing machines, they got to work, soon supplying products to those who needed them most.
"We were more used to making scarves and towels, not masks," says Fruchart. "We started with the first model made publicly available by the University of Grenoble hospital - not very complicated, except for the problems with obtaining flexible and non-woven polypropylene for a barrier filter inside the mask."
It took some time to test various projects and make sure that the masks meet the necessary quality standards for people working on the first line of a pandemic.
"Under no circumstances would we introduce masks that have not been tested," he says. - "We have changed the version several times to comply with DGA standards and advice. Today, we work with certified French fabric manufacturers who have passed IFTH and DGA standards based on the AFNOR model. "
Today, VET-e-MAGES offers safe fabrics for mask and weaver / knitwear manufacturers, so they can offer their own personalized items in line with the AFNOR principles.
