Ricoh Europe, London, November 13, 2020 -A second wave of lockdowns is sweeping Europe leaving commercial print operations with the challenge of deciding what to do next.

Many have already introduced short term measures to safeguard their work. Some have generated demand for newly added applications. Most are now looking to develop their long term business resilience in an assured way that confidently reinforces their production strengths.

But how does that look?

And how can it be achieved? The 2018 FESPA Print Census from within the Wide Format Market Trends report asked Sign & Graphics printers how they foresee changes in demand for a series of applications.

It found that key industrial print market applications including posters, banners, POP displays and signs are predicted to grow as a percentage of their business.

Of course, the Coronavirus affects these applications, but we can confidently predict recovery, even acceleration. In fact, we sense that growth in some application areas is already picking up again.

Also, even in markets such as mature sign graphics, there are many new applications coming up.

The current print production landscape and the opportunities it presents will be reviewed by Ricoh’s HENKAKU Live goes Industrial.

The sign and display and industrial print focused version of Ricoh’s successful HENKAKU Live webinar series is taking place across Europe in the next few weeks.

It will review the current print production landscape. As well as acknowledging that many steady, traditional long run jobs are likely to struggle to return to pre-pandemic levels, it will identify some exciting print sectors widely expected to flourish.

It will explore areas presenting opportunities including social distancing signage, protective equipment, short run packaging, interior, industrial décor and locally sourced direct to garment production.

The knowledge sharing webinar will also showcase how commercial printers can add these, and other services, with the application flexibility provided by the latest additions to Ricoh’s fast growing industrial solutions portfolio. They are the:

  • Ricoh Pro™ L5100e Series of extended gamut latex large format printers that allow the accurate reproduction of a wider range of Pantone and brand colours.

  • All in one Ricoh Pro™ TF6251 hybrid flatbed UV printer that supports print production on roll fed media, as well as rigid media.

  • Ricoh Ri 2000 Direct to Garment (DTG) flagship printer that responds to the needs of the modern garment decorator for heightened productivity, best-in-class operation and ease of use.

Many of the webinars will also share business development opportunities and application creativity presented by these systems and supported by Ricoh Business Booster.
