Reading, UK, July 3, 2024 – PVL UK, a renowned vehicle branding specialist, proudly announces the acquisition of a new HP Latex 800W printer, marking a pivotal advancement in its long-term carbon reduction strategy and reinforcing its commitment to offering more sustainable print services.
Established in 1999 by CEO Nick Broom, PVL UK has earned its reputation for manufacturing high visibility safety markings and corporate branding for emergency service and commercial fleets.
The company serves an extensive range of clients across the UK, Europe, the Middle East, and beyond, thanks to a trusted network of distribution partners.
PVL's impressive portfolio includes supplying livery for every National Ambulance vehicle in the United Arab Emirates and the entire Qatari Ambulance fleet.
In Europe, the company is the sole livery supply partner to Eurovia and has supported Jet2 in their brand rollout across their European fleet.
Meeting Growing Demand with Advanced Technology
Following a significant increase in demand for commercial fleet, wall graphics, window, and glass manifestation services during 2023, PVL recognized the need to expand its production capabilities. After evaluating several options, the company identified the HP Latex 800W as the ideal solution to support its continued growth.
Installed in January 2024, the HP Latex 800W printer boasts a top speed of 36sq m/hr in outdoor mode and can handle materials up to 1.63m wide. It also features a white ink option, enabling PVL to produce a diverse array of graphics for both commercial and emergency fleet clients.
What sets the HP Latex 800W apart is its use of water-based HP Latex inks, which are significantly more environmentally friendly than solvent, eco-solvent, and UV inks. According to Managing Director Craig Berresford, this was a crucial factor in their decision to invest in the printer.
"The HP Latex 800W seemed to be the logical choice for us," Berresford said. "It took up a similar footprint to our existing printers, operators were familiar with the operating system, and the HP Gen 4 inks have really advanced. The machine's environmental benefits align perfectly with our carbon reduction plan and our drive towards Net Zero."
Enhancing Operational Performance and Sustainability
Beyond its sustainable features, the HP Latex 800W has significantly enhanced PVL's operational performance. The added capacity has allowed PVL to speed up production, enabling quicker turnaround times for clients. Berresford noted that the machine's efficiency has effectively doubled the productivity in their print department.
"The extra capacity is really helping our sales team to confidently offer quick turnaround work for our clients," he said. "The fitting team also loves the way gassing out isn't an issue with this machine, which speeds up our entire workflow. Print OS is such a powerful tool that it enables us to track jobs, costs, and benchmark performance."
Looking Ahead
Encouraged by the success of the HP Latex 800W, PVL is already considering additional investments in similar print equipment to support its long-term growth plans. "The machine came with great support, and the operators had a smooth install and training period," Berresford said. "During the coming year, we will be looking to strengthen our print offering with further similar investments."
