Epson Demonstrates Sustainable Design-to-Product Workflow with Monna Lisa Printer at Textile Innovation Event

Epson Nederland showcased the capabilities of its Monna Lisa digital textile printer during the recent Textile Innovation Event, demonstrating a complete and sustainable design-to-product workflow.

The live demonstration highlighted how digital textile printing empowers designers and brands with greater control, speed, and sustainability, revolutionising traditional production methods.

During the event, Epson collaborated with designer Meike Nieuwenhuis to create a fully finished fashion item in real-time.

Nieuwenhuis designed the fabric, which was then printed live on the Monna Lisa.

She was able to immediately begin constructing the garment, a jacket, completing the entire process from concept to creation within a sustainable and highly efficient chain.

This live demonstration provided a clear and tangible example of how digital printing facilitates a faster, localised production process with a significantly reduced environmental footprint compared to conventional methods.

The showcase underscored how this technology offers a future-proof solution for the textile industry.

By enabling on-demand production, the Monna Lisa addresses key industry challenges, such as waste reduction and the need for more agile supply chains, without compromising on quality or creative freedom.

This innovative approach offers a powerful alternative for designers looking to produce ethically and efficiently.

Epson plans to share further insights and applications from the event, detailing how this technology can be integrated into future production processes.

The jacket created during the live demonstration is currently available to be won through a giveaway on the official Epson Nederland Instagram page (@epsonnederland), offering the public a chance to own a piece of this innovative showcase.
