Zünd Unveils Future-Ready Digital Cutting Innovations At FESPA 2026

Barcelona, Spain - 19 May 2026 – Zünd, a global authority in advanced digital cutting systems, is presenting  its highly reliable and versatile solutions at the FESPA Global Print Expo in Barcelona from 19 to 22 May 2026.

Operating under the theme "Reliable All-Rounders" at Booth A129 in Hall 3, the company will demonstrate how its modular systems address the urgent industry need for sustainable, cost-effective, and highly automated production workflows.

To address the pressing demand for material efficiency and waste reduction, Zünd is introducing the newly developed RollMaster on a Zünd G3 cutter.

This flexibly configurable roll-off unit accommodates virtually all roll materials, sizes, and weights, from textiles to dense plastic films and paper.

By enabling quick roll changes without additional setup, the highly modular RollMaster allows print service providers to optimise material usage and significantly minimise costly production downtime.

Expanding the functionality of its cutters, Zünd is launching an integrated thread-milling tool that eliminates the need for separate, energy-intensive processing steps.

Threads can now be created directly on the cutter in various rigid materials, streamlining the installation of signage and display graphics.

Additionally, a new blade holder facilitates precise V-cutting for tight contours in acoustic panels, further promoting the efficient processing of sustainable sound-absorbing materials.

As the graphics and packaging sectors face acute labour shortages, ethical and efficient automation remains a critical path forward.

Zünd is pairing a compact S3 cutter with the Robot PortaBase 175 from Robotfactory to automate material handling.

This integration, powered by a newly available open Loading and Unloading interface in the Zünd Cut Center, illustrates how robot-assisted workflows can increase throughput, enhance process stability, and safely alleviate operator workload.

Visitors will have a chance to experience the extraordinary versatility of Zünd cutting technology through the example of a Zünd S3 cutter configured for cutting rolled goods as well as challenging board materials.

No less versatile and powerful, its big brother, the Zünd G3, will also be demonstrating live its many capabilities. This particular cutting solution includes fully automated, robotic material handling and parts removal with the PortaBase 175 system. Incidentally, the 175 designation refers to the robotic arm's impressive reach of 175 cm / 69 in.

Modularity remains the core principle behind Zünd’s engineering, offering long-term investment security and actively preventing equipment obsolescence.

Machine configurations can be easily expanded with new tools, software, or automated handling solutions to adapt to shifting market environments.
