Canon Europe To Deliver A Taste Of Colour At FESPA 2021 As It Shows The Colorado Uvgel Wallpaper Factory Whilst Introducing Its Colorado 1630 And Arizona 135 GT Digital Printers
At FESPA Global Print Expo 2021 (12ᵗʰ – 15ᵗʰ October 2021, Amsterdam, The Netherlands), Canon (stand 1-F95) will show its smart-investment-level Colorado 1630 and Arizona 135 GT printers for the first time at a live international event.
Highlighting how its end-to-end large format graphics solutions enable customers to expand into new markets, Canon will inspire visitors with a vast application range giving sign makers and print service providers a taste of colour.
At FESPA Global Print Expo 2021, Canon Will Showcase Its Latest Colorado Roll-To-Roll And Arizona Flatbed Printers.
Canon will inspire visitors with a vast application range giving sign makers and print service providers a taste of colour.
The new Colorado 1630 will demonstrate how sign makers, commercial printers and print service providers can access all the proven advantages of UVgel technology at a smart investment level.
The modular architecture of the Colorado 1630 helps users to configure the printer to their unique business needs by adding options such as FLXfinish – an LED curing technique that adds flexibility for a matte or gloss finish to each print – a second media roll and double-sided printing, without the need for a service visit.
The ‘UVgel Wallpaper Factory’ production set-up, featuring the Colorado 1650 and Fotoba motorised Jumbo Roll Loader JRL 170 in combination with the Cutter XLD 170WP and Rewinder REW 162, will showcase a complete end-to-end solution for new customers and existing Colorado 1650 users.
The Colorado Wallpaper Factory is designed for maximum throughput and with the set-up, customers have a fully automated solution for the production of high quality customised wallpaper, one of the fastest growing industry sectors.
Recognising the importance of this market segment, Canon has joined the Global Wallcoverings Association (IGI), which is credited as a valuable, comprehensive and authoritative information source for the wallcovering industry.
Showcasing a real ‘UVgel Universal Factory’, a second Colorado 1650 will be connected to a Fotoba Jumbo Roll Rewinder and a Jumbo Roll Loader on the stand, demonstrating how customers can print long-run applications, with no need for an operator, enabling 24/7 production, 365 days a year – speeding up production and reducing order-to-delivery timelines.
The production can also be monitored remotely via a Remote Control App on the operator’s smartphone.
Launched in June this year, the Arizona 135 GT flatbed printer will be another highlight of the stand.
For printers looking to expand into the large format graphics industry or for those looking to diversify into new applications, the Arizona 135 GT opens up a host of new opportunities, delivering the proven benefits of Canon’s award-winning Arizona series at a smart investment level.
The Arizona 135 GT, the only printer in its segment with a field-upgradable Roll Media Option (RMO) to print on flexible media, will, alongside Arizona Xpert software, produce tactile prints on an extensive range of both rigid and flexible media.
The Arizona 2380 XTF will highlight how customers can improve operational efficiencies and fuel growth opportunities through new applications.
Built around Arizona FLOW technology, users can increase productivity by more than 20% by minimising the need for masking and taping and work with more challenging media, such as cardboard, wood and glass.
The flatbed printer will also print a range of textured applications using the Touchstone software, which helps users to create high value print products, including interior décor applications, braille, fine-art reproduction and retail POS displays.
ProCare, the established after-sales services model for the Colorado printers, is now also available for the Arizona flatbed printer series creating a unique and unified service approach beneficial for end customers and sales partners.
ProCare offers maximised uptime, full cost transparency, high return on investment and, on average, has received a customer satisfaction rating of 95%.
New Arizona Ink Set Increases Application Versatility
At FESPA 2021, Canon will for the first time also be showing the capabilities of its new UV LED ink set on the Arizona 135 GT.
The new IJC358 ink set has superior adhesive properties, making it ideal for industrial applications that involve printing on more complex materials, such as plastics.
The higher flexibility of the IJC358 ink also means that it is more likely to remain adhered to the media both during the finishing processes and during the application of the finished media to a surface, such as a wall or glass.
Available in the same 800-millilitre, two-litre and three-litre pouches as Canon’s IJC357 ink set, IJC358 incorporates CMYK, light cyan, light magenta and white.
Whereas the IJC357 inks produce a glossier result, the IJC358 inks produce a more matte finish, again of greater potential appeal to those producing industrial applications. And from an environmental perspective, also being GREENGUARD Gold certified, IJC358 offers the same environmental guarantee as the IJC357 ink set.
The printers on the stand will be supported by ONYX 21 RIP and OneVision workflow automation software.
An end-to-end automated workflow will also be demonstrated, featuring the Colorado and Arizona printers, OneVision software and a Zünd S3 digital cutter, which will be displayed on the neighbouring OneVision stand (1-104).
In line with the FESPA 2021 theme, ‘Bringing Colour Back’, throughout the booth, visitors will be inspired by a wide range of colourful large format graphics applications under the Canon slogan: ‘A Taste of Colour’, including posters, banners, floor graphics, double-sided backlits, wallpaper, paperboard, vehicle wraps and textile transfer films.
Wouter Derichs, Sales & Marketing Director, Large Format Graphics EMEA at Canon Production Printing, comments, “Knowing that many print service providers are looking to expand into new markets, we’re delighted to be demonstrating the capabilities of the Colorado 1630 and Arizona 135 GT printers at FESPA 2021. With these recently launched printers, which were introduced based on feedback from customers and partners, users can benefit from highly automated and robust technologies at an attractive investment level. In addition, we’re looking forward to showing visitors the outstanding application versatility they can achieve with the new IJC358 ink set, to enhance and diversify their offering.”
Wouter concludes, “We’re delighted to be returning to FESPA 2021 after two years without live events and to have the opportunity to produce colourful applications in real-time. Our focus at the event is to show customers the range of Canon’s solutions to meet their business needs and volume requirements. The past 18 months have been challenging for many and at Canon we’re helping customers and partners to focus their resources and energies on business recovery and adding value to their customers which, in turn, will translate to sustainable business growth.”
The word "toxic" carries weight. It conjures danger, harm, and things best avoided.
“Yet in the textile industry - Where between 3,000 and 10,000 chemicals move through the supply chain, a reflexive fear of the term is one of our biggest obstacles to progress.”
This article distils the key takeaways and what buyers, designers, and brands should be asking right now.
What Is the Digital Product Passport?
At its core, a Digital Product Passport is a digital record attached to a physical product - For a printed textile product, this means the DPP would capture data on the substrate, inks and dyes used, the printing process and technology, chemical compliance, environmental impact (including water and energy use), supply chain traceability, and end-of-life instructions.
The Market Gap that Changed Everything
Future Fashion was founded in 2019, timed deliberately to coincide with a pivotal moment in global textile technology: the commercial launch of the EFI Reggiani BOLT Single-Pass digital printing system.
The founders recognised that single-pass architecture had fundamentally changed what was industrially possible - and that Pakistan's domestic market had yet to catch up.
Print is no longer defined by the inefficiencies that once characterised it…as advances in production processes and technology have significantly improved its environmental performance.
Taran Rai, Corporate Sustainability Manager at Epson explains why?
The story of what happens when young designers access digital technology is still being written.
What once was a theoretical sustainability goal seems to have shifted into an active regulatory reality.
