J. Zimmer Maschinenbau Announces "Zimmer 2028" Strategic Transformation Initiative

Klagenfurt, Austria – September 2, 2026 – J. Zimmer Maschinenbau GmbH Klagenfurt and J. Zimmer Maschinenbau GmbH Kufstein | Digital Printing Systems have announced the launch of "Zimmer 2028", a strategic transformation initiative that will unite the two operating companies into a single, unified organisation effective January 1st, 2028.

The initiative represents a decisive response to evolving market demands and increasing economic pressures facing the industrial printing and textile machinery sector.

By consolidating expertise, resources, and technologies across both locations, Zimmer 2028 is designed to strengthen the company's capacity for customer service, innovation, and sustainable long-term growth.

Andreas Rass, Managing Director, said, "'Zimmer 2028' is our response to increasing economic pressure. It is a strategic organisational transformation that combines the best of two worlds. The demands of our market continue to evolve. Through this restructuring, we are not only responding to these changes but also creating the foundation to actively and successfully shape the future of our company."

Alongside the strategic announcement, the company has confirmed a number of leadership changes effective immediately.

As of 31st August 2026, Horst Ros and Jürgen Scheriau have stepped down from their roles as Managing Directors.

Horst Ros has departed the company, while Jürgen Scheriau has withdrawn from operational responsibilities.

The company expressed sincere gratitude to both outgoing directors for their many years of commitment and significant contributions to the business, wishing them well in their future endeavours.

Effective September 1st, 2026, Thomas Mentler and Andreas Rass — who have previously served as Managing Directors of J. Zimmer Maschinenbau GmbH Kufstein | Digital Printing Systems — have been appointed as Managing Directors of J. Zimmer Maschinenbau GmbH Klagenfurt. Both will continue to lead operations across the Kufstein and Klagenfurt locations in their respective capacities.

The future unified organisation will operate under the vision: One Company. Two Locations. One Shared Future.

It is expected to deliver faster decision-making, stronger innovation capabilities, more efficient customer support, and a robust foundation for sustainable growth — positioning Zimmer as an agile, customer-oriented business ready to meet the challenges ahead.
