Rapidity Boosts Finishing Efficiency And Production Flexibility With The Veloblade Volta 69+ From Vivid Laminating

London, UK – April 8th 2026 – Rapidity, a leading London-based print and communications company, today announced the successful integration of the VeloBlade Volta 69+ and VeloTaper Taping System from Vivid into its production lines.

This strategic investment marks a significant step forward in digital cutting, empowering the company to overcome traditional production bottlenecks, enhance operational efficiency, and deliver sustainable, high-quality packaging and print solutions.

As the print industry faces increasing demands for rapid turnaround times and custom packaging, relying on conventional, labour-intensive die-cutting systems presents a substantial challenge.

Previously, Rapidity utilised B1 Crosland and Heidelberg Windmill systems, which delivered consistent results but required specialist knowledge.

This limited operation to merely two trained staff members and necessitated new, costly tooling for each job.

Such constraints hinder agility and generate unnecessary physical waste, particularly during short runs and bespoke projects.

By adopting the VeloBlade Volta 69+, Rapidity transitions to a highly flexible digital cutting workflow that eliminates the need for physical dies, thereby reducing per-job tooling costs and setup times.

The system's intuitive design allows five team members to confidently manage operations. Distributing the workload more efficiently across the team frees up experienced personnel to focus on other critical areas of production, streamlining the entire finishing process.

The immediate impact on productivity and cost-effectiveness enables rapid prototyping, allowing designs to be thoroughly tested and approved before committing to full production.

Ben Manning, Production Director at Rapidity, noted the profound shift in daily operations. "The VeloBlade has made a huge difference to the way we work. It’s much easier to use, it’s sped up turnaround times, and it’s given us far more flexibility across the team," Manning stated.

The VeloBlade Volta 69+ is now an integral component of Rapidity's daily output, consistently producing greyboard boxes, kiss-cut stickers, custom shapes, and packaging from the start to the end of each working day.

The successful implementation was driven by a strong partnership with Vivid, a company chosen for its proven track record of support and focus on streamlining user processes.

Manning added, "Vivid have always had a great relationship with us and went out of their way to make everything work. From installation and training to the aftercare and support, it was the right company and the right system for us."
