UFABRIK Appoints IGEPA Hungária As Hungarian Distributor
Bracknell – Berkshire - October 2026 - UFABRIK has added IGEPA Hungária to its expanding European distribution network, bringing its digital textile portfolio to customers across Hungary through one of the country’s leading print and visual communications suppliers.
The appointment follows a number of significant UFABRIK distributor appointments during 2026, underpinning the brand’s ascendance across Europe.
It began as a family business in 1992 and moved into printing paper distribution in 1994. It joined the IGEPA Group in 2004 and now has more than 30 years’ experience in the Hungarian market.
Today, the business operates across four principal areas: printing papers, industrial packaging materials, office communication products, and visual communications solutions for the sign and digital print sectors.
Its diverse customer base spans commercial printers, packaging companies, sign makers, digital print and advertising businesses, and interior design studios.
The UFABRIK range of premium digital print-ready display textiles is trusted by major international brands across diverse applications, including backlit, frontlit, blockout, backdrops, TFS, SEG, wall wraps, banners, flags, canopies, tents, gazebos, and more.
Materials Expansion
The expansion of the company’s materials range is a strategic priority with emphasis on products that combine dependable quality with commercial value.
“We evaluated several manufacturers and found that UFABRIK combines high-quality textiles with stable, continuous production. Our colleagues in the IGEPA Group, particularly in Poland and the Czech Republic, have already achieved significant success with UFABRIK, which gave us extra confidence. We are pleased to follow the same path in Hungary,” says Anita Szabó-Botrágyi, VISCOM business unit manager, IGEPA Hungária.
Consistency is one of the key considerations behind the appointment. UFABRIK controls all manufacturing process from weaving and dyeing through to coating and finishing, helping to maintain uniform performance from batch to batch.
For customers, that consistency is particularly important where colour, print behaviour, and repeatability need to remain predictable across ongoing production.
The new distribution arrangement will also be underpinned by local stock. IGEPA Hungária is building inventory around the products it expects to get the most demand for, including blockout, blackback, backlit, flag and stretch textiles.
3.2m and 5m wide rolls will be held as standard stock items, giving customers faster access to materials for large-format and seamless textile applications without the delays often associated with specialist wide-width products.
Technical support is another important facet of the offer. IGEPA Hungária will provide colour profiles and guidance for UV, solvent, and sublimation printing, while working with UFABRIK’s technical specialists on printer settings, colour management, and application support where required.
“Customers want materials that are proven, easy to print, and available when they need them,” says Anita. “By combining local stock with technical support, we can help customers move into textile applications with far less uncertainty.”
Hungarian Market
The Hungarian market is commercially focused and price-conscious, with customers placing particular value on proven materials that are reliable in production, straightforward to order and readily available from local stock.
Demand for textile-based print applications continues to grow, particularly across retail, exhibitions and events, all with applications demonstrating increasing adoption of backlit textile light boxes and stretch-fabric display systems.
Anita sees particularly strong potential in dye-sublimation applications, SEG frame systems and large-format backdrops. In these areas, textiles offer significant practical advantages over more traditional display materials, including their versatility, light weight, ease of handling and considerably lower transport and storage requirements.
“UFABRIK gives us a complete, high-quality soft signage portfolio, available from local stock and backed by expert technical support. It enables our customers to enter or expand within the textile market with confidence, without the stockholding and supply risks normally associated with introducing a new product category. Customers can source the complete range through the same trusted consumables partner, while wide format rolls up to 5 metres open up opportunities for larger applications and projects that were previously more difficult to service,” she says.
IGEPA Hungária is focused on being the preferred, trusted supplier to the print and sign industry.
Anita says, “Soft signage is an extremely important and growing part of our market, and UFABRIK gives us a strong platform from which to develop this area of our business. The partnership also aligns well with the wider IGEPA Group, enabling us to share knowledge, experience and best practice across other IGEPA companies. We see UFABRIK as an important part of our long-term growth in soft signage.”

Colour Is Too Important to Leave to Chance
Print will always be the part of the garment people see first.
But the sum of all parts — the fabric, the trims, the fasteners, the finish — is what determines whether a design actually delivers on its promise. Brands that continue to treat colour as a single creative decision, rather than a coordinated technical discipline spanning their entire supply chain, will keep paying for it in re-dips, delays, and disappointed design teams.
A Century of Textiles, and an Ever-changing World
Few companies can trace their roots back more than a century and still count themselves among their industry's innovators. Texia, headquartered in Monistrol de Montserrat, Spain, is one of them.
But the story of Texia is not simply one of longevity.
It is a story of continual reinvention. As the textile industry has grown more global and competitive, Texia has repeatedly reshaped its business, investing in technology, developing its own brands, and placing sustainability at the centre of its mission. In doing so, it offers a compelling example of how a heritage manufacturer can lead rather than follow through a period of profound industry change. Image Credit: Texia
What are we craving Ultimately?
The instinct to slow down while simultaneously optimising every measurable aspect of life isn't a passing curiosity. It's a structural response to a world that feels increasingly unstable, and it's reshaping what people expect from their homes, hotels, workplaces and healthcare environments alike.
For the design and manufacturing sectors, this means rethinking both product and process.
The Structual Shift is Real and its Already Here
Volumes are moving east, where digital production is accelerating rapidly. Consumer behaviour has shifted.
Demand is now driven by personalisation, shorter buying cycles, and an expectation of near-instant responsiveness. Regulatory pressure is intensifying, with supply chain transparency now a legal and commercial fact in many markets. And margins? They are under sustained, structural pressure.
This is not a temporary disruption. It is a fundamental reordering of how textile manufacturing must operate.
The Challenge: Standing Firm as the Industry Shifts
The wallpaper landscape has changed dramatically. Digital printing has lowered the barrier to entry, spawning countless direct-to-consumer brands and pushing much of the market towards faster, cheaper production.
At the same time, manufacturing in the UK has grown steadily harder - rising minimum wage, national insurance, energy and substrate costs all bear down on margins. Surface Print have embraced all of these challenges - and stand resolutely prepared for the future.
From Helsinki's printing mill to Paris's Le Marais, discover how Marimekko is scaling a design-led brand with purpose, craft, and bold innovation.
But what makes Marimekko's story compelling is not just its aesthetic legacy?
The word "toxic" carries weight. It conjures danger, harm, and things best avoided.
“Yet in the textile industry - Where between 3,000 and 10,000 chemicals move through the supply chain, a reflexive fear of the term is one of our biggest obstacles to progress.”
This article distils the key takeaways and what buyers, designers, and brands should be asking right now.
What Is the Digital Product Passport?
At its core, a Digital Product Passport is a digital record attached to a physical product - For a printed textile product, this means the DPP would capture data on the substrate, inks and dyes used, the printing process and technology, chemical compliance, environmental impact (including water and energy use), supply chain traceability, and end-of-life instructions.
