HP Latex R2000 Hybrid to Expand 2.5m-Wide Wide-Format Capability with Continuous Roll Production At Reeds Of Carlisle
Wednesday, February 18, 2026 - Penrith & Carlisle, UK – Independent print, signage and digital agency Reeds has invested close to £200,000 in new production technology, led by the installation of an HP Latex R2000 hybrid flatbed printer.
Completed one year after a management buyout, the investment also includes a Trotec laser cutter and a DS-85i folder inserter, strengthening the company’s wide-format, finishing and mail fulfilment capability.
The addition expands capacity across POS, display, retail interiors and exhibition graphics, while reducing reliance on external suppliers.
The water-based latex technology aligns with the company’s ISO 14001 environmental certification and supports indoor and retail-safe graphics production without solvent-based processes.
Finishing And Fulfilment Expansion
The investment also includes a Trotec laser cutter, bringing precision cutting and engraving of acrylics, woods and coated metals in-house for lettering, fascia signs, wayfinding and bespoke branded pieces.
The Trotec laser cutter was supported with £10K of funding through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF), Westmorland & Furness Council and Cumbria Chamber of Commerce.
On the fulfilment side, Reeds has installed a DS-85i folder inserter to strengthen automation across its mail operation.
The system supports folding and inserting for complex multi-piece packs and higher-volume campaigns, improving consistency and throughput.
Anthony Donnelly Added:“Mail and fulfilment are an increasingly important part of what we do. The DS-85i gives us the reliability and throughput we need to handle both regular runs and targeted campaigns while keeping production in-house.”
Integrated Production Model
By bringing creative design, commercial litho and digital print, large-format graphics, bespoke signage manufacture, mail fulfilment, website development and digital marketing together within a single business, Reeds enables customers to maintain continuity across every touchpoint — without restarting conversations with different suppliers.
Campaigns can begin with strategy and design, move into commercial print, display or signage production, be distributed through managed fulfilment and direct mail, and continue online through innovative websites and digital marketing activity.
The result is consistent execution, simplified project management and greater control across both physical and digital channels.
