Job Description

This entry level role of Assistant Print Designer sits in our remarkable Print Design team where you will be responsible for supporting the creation and development process of the seasonal print design ranges for our Kids and Menswear ranges.

Day To Day As An Assistant Print Designer:

• Responsible for supporting the creation and development process of the seasonal design ranges to balance creative and commercial needs and deliver against the Concept brief

• Implement the seasonal Design Direction set out by the CBO, Design Director, and the Concept Team to drive the strategic objectives daily through the print team

• Design prints, stripes, artworks and checks in a broad variety of styles that respond to a brief creatively with a commercial eye

• Excellent trend prediction and can translate into contemporary relevance for the Joules brand

• Customer led mindset supported by store visits, competitive shops and inspirational shopping

• Understanding of commercial acumen, customer and market positioning

• Understands overarching design strategy and department strategy and their accountability in achieving it

• Is developing a good understanding of garment manufacture, fit and fabricsSupports manager across all areas of print development process.

• Maintain strong relationships with commercial, design and tech teams.

• Strong communication and influencing skills with key stakeholders across the business

What We Need You To Have:

• BA Degree in Design or work based equivalent

• Proficient in Adobe / Illustrator / Photoshop / Centric and design packages

• Passionate about product and can clearly interpret the Joules brand identity

• Listens and supports, is prepared to adapt style

• Self motivated in completing tasks in a proactive manner

• Strong influencer supported by evidence to gain buy in

• Good presentation skills

• Some experience in the creative industry / Trainee / Placement / work experience would be advantageous

• Excellent communication skills

• Great time management and multi tasking skills
