Illustrator for Textile Designers

Beginner Level | 4 Day Course

Thursday 5 – Sunday 8 March | 10:30am – 4pm

Ideal for creating intricate, complex and decorative design elements, Adobe Illustrator has a vast range of tools perfect for textile designers.

This extended 4-day course will teach you how Illustrator is used in the textiles industry to create effective designs and patterns and the best way to present your ideas. Over the 4-days students will have the opportunity practice and develop the practical skills taught.

The course covers the following main topics:

  • Create textile motifs using the ‘drawing’, ‘painting’ and ‘reshaping’ tools

  • Develop textile patterns, colourways and design variations

  • Apply your textile design to garments and interior products

This course is taught on PCs and is for beginners or for those that have a basic knowledge of Illustrator.

The content is suitable for people working in the textiles sector, students, tutors or anyone interested in improving their computer design skills and learning techniques in Illustrator.

Participants are required to have basic computer skills. Please bring a pen, notebook and USB stick to save your work.
