FASHION TECHNOLOGY ACADEMY
Fashion Technology Academy: Training for the next generation in Fashion
The FTA is the first apparel manufacturing training academy in the country to operate alongside a live Factory and Fashion Studio ensuring that students gain exposure to real ‘Best of British’ manufacturing skills whilst training for their accredited qualifications. The FTA has been created to train a new generation of skilled workers to ensure that the UK apparel manufacturing sector continues to thrive.
There is no other training provision in the UK today that integrates industry practices with a live successful factory that is currently ranked as a ‘leading status’ with the industry acclaimed Fast Forward Audit. Out of 360 factories Fashion Enter is one of two companies that has achieved this leading status recognition and reflects the exceptionally high standards that Fashion Enter abides by.
The FTA regularly hosts educational visits from schools, colleges and universities along with industry professionals to deepen knowledge and understanding of manufacturing techniques and review training and career options available. Along with a broad range of training programmes and workshops the FTA also provides seminars and bespoke courses in continual professional and personal development (CPPD) for industry. Current clients include Fat Face, M and S, New Look and Arcadia. These CPPD sessions review The Factory Uncovered and discuss topics such as ethical and sustainable sourcing, open costings and expose sharp practices such as ‘cabbage’.
Fashion Enter is England's leading provider for the Fashion and Textiles Advanced Apprenticeship programme offering Level 2 Apparel Apprenticeship, Level 3 Diploma in Apparel Footwear, Leather or Production and Certificate in Apparel Manufacturing Technology, and Level 4 Technical Textiles – Product Sourcing and Development.
In 2013 Fashion Enter was awarded The Tick Mark of Excellence by Creative Skillset for its training standards provision and is now an accredited Showcase Centre through ABC Awards due to its high standard of excellence attained in training at all levels. All CPPD courses are accredited with ABC Awards quality scheme with certification available for attendees.
All the tutors are industry trained and highly qualified in the teaching profession providing an excellent teaching provision that uses real work based skills. Fashion Enter is currently leading on a new Trailblazer Apprenticeship Standard with Lord Alliance and 17 retailers. The Expression of Interest will be submitted to the government body BIS and the new standard will be ready for delivery in 2017.
