Job description
Do you have the drive and enthusiasm for creating great designs with a keen eye for detail?
Due to expansion, this is a brilliant and unique opportunity for a highly passionate, creative and self-motivated individual to join our entrepreneurial team and growing company in the Bristol design office.
We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic designer who will be involved in a huge wealth of work, ranging from creating textile graphics and all-over prints for our products, packaging, brochures, magazines and infographics.
We are specifically looking for someone who can create commercial, yet fresh textile prints for uses such as bedding, curtains, cushion covers, clothing and stationery.
You will be joining a talented creative team acting within an influential design capacity across the full scope of projects, from concept designs through to final delivery.
Person specification
The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic, imaginative and passionate about all things design.
We are looking for someone with a portfolio of beautiful, well-executed design work, preferably cross-discipline but with the main background of print textiles and packaging design for consumer products.
The ideal candidate would be:
Hard-working, dedicated and enthusiastic with the ability to use your initiative confidently
A conceptual thinker with great visualising skills
Flexible enough to apply designs across a diverse range of materials
Able to manage multiple projects at once, take ownership of initial briefs and translate them into successful, commercial ideas.
Have an excellent working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator
Have print and textile experience with a good solid handle on art working, repeat patterns formats and processes
A great communicator that is able to work well as a team
Have a strong trend driven portfolio and the ability to interpret the latest trends into commercial products with good trend knowledge and research skills
Open to constructive criticism and able to edit designs multiple times if needed
Ability to translate concepts and ideas into complete designs
Responsibilities
Provide fresh thinking, strong ideas and a high level of craftsmanship across all elements of design
Have an understanding of the creative process from brief to production
Organise and maintain design files and master assets as needed
Maintain the high standards of creative excellence, timeliness and profitability
Support the team when managing external specialists e.g. illustrators, visualiser
Help to maintain an atmosphere of inspiration and collaboration
Liaise with factories to develop and sample ranges, working closely with our in- product development team
