Heimtextil’s Itechstyle Green Circle Sustainability Showcase Highlights Portuguese Innovation In Renewable Fabric Production

Portugal, which has stood out in the Home Textile sector for its innovative capacity, will present, for the first time, a showcase of sustainable products at Heimtextil, the world’s largest trade fair starting on Tuesday in Frankfurt.

At Heimtextil, which celebrates its 50th Anniversary, 78 Portuguese companies will occupy 5,800 square metres of exhibition space.

Portugal is the tenth largest country to exhibit at this fair, and its occupied area has grown by 45% over the course of the last decade.

The iTechStyle Green Circle Sustainability Showcase, is an initiative that pretends to inspire textile and clothing professionals and stakeholders for the adoption of sustainable practices and materials in their products and processes.

At the same time this showcase is a platform to create awareness about the Portuguese performance on this field.

After a first edition in 2018 just focused on fashion goods, is now time to extend the initiative to home textiles: iTechStyle Green Circle – Home Textiles Sustainability Showcase.

Thus, the best stage to show to the world this brand-new showcase is Heimtextil. The showcase can be found in hall 12.0, A39.

At Heimtextil from 7 to 10 January 2020, visitors will have the opportunity to see how Portugal is driving textile industry to the circular economy dream, producing high performance HT based on recycled and recyclable fibres, organic, natural, renewable fibres, sustainable products coloured without dyeing chemicals, textile materials obtained by other industries waste upcycling, among others.

“iTechStyle Green Circle” is an initiative of CITEVE (the Portuguese Technological Centre for Textiles and Clothing Industries) to ASM – Associação Selectiva Moda, creatively cured by Paulo Gomes.
