Designed for Business
Student Competition to win £30,000
Students in their final year or in the first year of graduating from a full time Bachelor’s Degree; or students who are currently studying a Master’s Degree course are invited to enter this national student design competition.
The competition is open to creative students and graduates across Interior Design, Product Design, Interior Decoration, Fashion, and Art & Design for a chance to win £30,000.
Student’s can also nominate their tutor for a chance to win the Visionary Tutor Award 2018.
SBID recognise the time, research and financial cost invested in esteemed university education, the outcome aimed at increasing the opportunity to gain employment from the most prestigious, innovative and creative companies from local, national and global to established or start-up. The aim is to connect the next generation of imaginative minds with the creative industries.
About ‘Designed for Business’ Student Competition:
In collaboration with recognised SBID universities, with the support of industry members, competition sponsors and our partner, Be Open Think Tank, students across the creative industries are invited to enter the SBID student design competition by submitting their end of year project and propose a Course Leader as Visionary Tutor 2018 in the aim of winning the coveted prizes.
SBID created this equal opportunity across their membership and industry to bring imagination, collaboration, education and business together to improve, celebrate and create great minds and amazing outcomes.
Prizes will be presented to the Overall Winner; five Category Winners; and Visionary Tutors in a ceremony held in on 29th November in London. Enter now for the chance to win!
Prize:
One Overall Winner receives the cash prize of £30,000.

Eligibility:
To qualify, participants must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree and graduated in 2017 or 2018.
Eligibility for each category:
Category 1: Interior Design
Only students participating at SBID recognised interior design universities and schools in the UK are eligible to enter the inaugural student competition Designed for Business.
Students are required to submit a synopsis and images of their final year coursework project as the submission for Designed for Business.

Category 2: Interior Decoration
Only students participating at a SBID recognised university or school and on an interior decoration or related course within the UK are eligible to enter the inaugural student competition Designed for Business.
Students are required to submit a synopsis and images of their final year coursework project as the submission for Designed for Business.

Category 3: Art
Any students currently enrolled at a UK university or school on an Art related course are eligible to enter the inaugural student competition Designed for Business.

Category 4: Fashion
Any students currently enrolled at a UK university or school on a Fashion related course are eligible to enter the inaugural student competition Designed for Business.

Category 5: Product Design
Any students currently enrolled at a UK university or school on a Product Design related course are eligible to enter the inaugural student competition Designed for Business.

Visionary Tutor 2018
Students are invited to nominate an inspiring tutor for their category to be recognised for encouraging emerging talent so as to realise their full potential.
Designed for Business will present the winning Course Leader from each category with the certificate for Visionary Tutor 2018 at the awards ceremony.
