Graduate Fashion Week held in London, brings together 40 of international Universities in a celebration of creativity and innovation and offers a first sight of this years hot bed of talented new graduates about to embark on their careers in the Fashion Industry.

It’s an exciting time, and for many a journey that brings both adventure and opportunity. The excitement is palpable, as is the creativity and passion in each and every graduate collection.

For one young graduate, of Edinburgh College of Art, Brian Mc Lysaght the future is set by the incredible craftsmanship and innovation in each of his garments.

More than just clothes, Brians creations offer the world a clear message…Be bold and change the foot print of fashion!! Switching to sustainable substrates will make a huge impact on our worlds precious resources and Brians graduate collection blends multiple fabrics and techniques into a remarkable, almost sculptural collection of stylish couture!!

Brians collection utilises both hand drawn techniques and innovative technology. Laser cutting and etching, alongside Digital textile printing and hand painted textiles abound. Printed onto re-cycled sustainable fabrics that meet the needs of the eco-conscious consumer. Utilising fabrics that have been reclaimed from landfill alongside organic textiles and those sourced from wood derivatives. The colour palette is warm, rich and sophisticated, and echoes the inspiration for Brians collection: His heritage in Ireland…
